Last week, something unexpected happened that reminded me exactly why I became an acupuncturist.

By complete chance, I ran into a former fertility patient I hadn't seen in nearly nine years.

As we stood there catching up, I finally got to meet the little girl she had hoped and dreamed of for so long. She had us laughing with her wonderful knock-knock jokes, and it was such a joy to meet her husband and son as well.

When we first met years ago, she had been told by her reproductive endocrinologist that she would likely need IVF to conceive. At one point, she decided to take a break from fertility treatments. During that time, she continued coming for acupuncture—not because we were trying to "make" a pregnancy happen, but because it helped her feel calmer, healthier, sleep better, and reconnect with herself.

Later, she conceived naturally.

Every fertility journey is different, and no treatment can guarantee a particular outcome. But moments like this remind me that healing isn't only about outcomes. It's about walking alongside people during some of the most meaningful and vulnerable seasons of their lives.

That has always been the heart of my practice.

More Than an Acupuncture Clinic

When I opened Lisa Meyerson Acupuncture in 2013, I wanted to build more than an acupuncture practice.

I wanted to create a place where people could slow down.

A place where they would be listened to without feeling rushed.

A place where healing could happen through compassionate, individualized care.

Over the past thirteen years, I've had the privilege of caring for people trying to conceive, navigating pregnancy, recovering from injuries, living with chronic pain, managing autoimmune conditions, moving through menopause, and finding relief from anxiety, insomnia, and so many other health challenges.

I've walked alongside patients through joyful milestones, difficult diagnoses, setbacks, and fresh beginnings.

Those relationships are the greatest gift of my work.

Why I'm Asking for Your Support

Like many independent healthcare providers, I've watched the cost of running a small practice steadily increase.

Rent, supplies, continuing education, insurance, software, and everyday operating expenses continue to rise. At the same time, I've remained committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care and accepting insurance whenever possible so acupuncture remains accessible to more people.

Rather than compromising that mission, I'm choosing something different.

I'm inviting my community to help me build a sustainable future.

Introducing the Sustainability Fund

I've launched a GoFundMe Sustainability Fund to help strengthen the long-term future of Lisa Meyerson Acupuncture.

This isn't simply about getting through a challenging season.

It's about preserving a practice that has been built on relationships, trust, and compassionate care.

Your support helps me continue to:

  • Provide individualized acupuncture care.

  • Continue advanced training and continuing education.

  • Maintain a peaceful, welcoming treatment space.

  • Serve the Evanston and North Shore communities.

  • Be here for patients during life's biggest transitions.

Every contribution, regardless of size, helps strengthen the future of this practice.

There Are Many Ways to Help

If you'd like to make a financial contribution, I would be deeply grateful.

If that's not possible right now, there are many other meaningful ways to support my practice:

  • Refer a friend or family member.

  • Share the fundraiser with your community.

  • Leave a Google review.

  • Share one of my educational posts.

  • Schedule your next acupuncture appointment.

  • Tell someone about Lisa Meyerson Acupuncture.

Every one of these gestures helps more than you know.

Thank You

Whether you've been a patient for one visit or many years, referred someone you love, read these newsletters, or simply encouraged me along the way, you've helped shape this practice into what it is today.

Thank you for trusting me with your health, your stories, and your families.

It is an honor I never take for granted.

If you'd like to help sustain the future of Lisa Meyerson Acupuncture, I'd be honored to have your support.
